What was your OSINT highlight of 2021?
I loved seeing how the OSINT Community was strengthened throughout 2021. With many of the OSINT conferences in 2021 being free (or low cost) and virtual, they were finally accessible to thousands of people around the world.
Not just as attendees, but speakers not didn’t have to fly thousands of miles to present on their amazing OSINT tools and techniques. I was thrilled that the SANS OSINT Summit that John TerBush and I chaired was accessible and open to all. With over 12,000 registrations, it was the largest event I’ve ever helped run. After the conference, I received feedback from people in distant countries stating how they were finally able to attend one of these conferences.
Any favorite tool or technique that you tried in 2021?
My favorite, most flexible OSINT tool would have to be Webrobots.io’s Instant Data Scraper. It can be used across a huge number of websites to download and archive data.
Do you have a blog / Twitter account / Company that you’d like to share with the community?
I just launched the https://myosint.training | @myosinttrainer on demand video training site
and, in February 2022 will launch the https://osint.games | @osintgamesctf OSIINT CTF site. Really excited about both!
Of course, I have all those long-term sites and tools to promote like

Anything else you’d like to add about The State of OSINT?
I love how the OSINT community is strengthening and growing. I’m seeing more people willing to share tools, tactics, and techniques with ever widening audiences.
